His announcement is below:
"After much deliberation and prayer, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Chairman of the Republican Party of Liberty County.
I would first like to thank Ken Coleman for all the wonderful help and assistance he's been on my journey the last few years. I will always stand by the opinion that Mr. Coleman is one of the most fair and honest individuals in the Republican Party, and I am privileged to work with him and the county GOP.
Several factors motivate me to seek this office – Currently, the Republican Party is inactive and lacks community involvement county wide. Liberty County deserves a conservative party that keeps a presence year-round, not just during elections. We must be reaching out to our members, future members, voters, pastors, civic groups, elected and community leaders on a consistent basis to aid them in any way necessary.
We must reinforce our conservative views on an ongoing basis to our friends as well as our foes. We must strive to grow in numbers by reaching out to all areas of the community and county. It is imperative that the Republican party secures its future by reaching out to the young generation to form a solid base. We need to make better use of the technology that is constantly improving and changing on a daily basis to inform the public.
We must work with our conservative allies throughout our entire district, neighboring counties, and our neighboring Republican parties. We can no longer afford to be an isolated group that meets quarterly. Harris County is creeping towards democratic control with each election and with Battleground Texas sitting on our doorstep, we can no longer sit idly by. Over time, they will find our county easy to control if we don't unite with other counties to be proactive and send a real message of conservatism.
I look forward to speaking to many of you in the near future.
I hope you will join and help me in this fight. I welcome all opinions and volunteers who wish to make us a well-functioning, well-known, and highly active party. Let our voices be heard."
